volvovo
that wasn't the point of his post. mike was trying to say that a quality tune > bcs/tcv/ebc/mbc anyday. and he is 100% right. Why not get both? A quality tune + an EBC is just another safeguard and useful tool in tuning your car.
Dragman10
I've got a cheapo mbc and cranked it all the way in and only got 14 psi. Take yours and back the screw all the way out then adjust the wastegate to 5-6 psi then roadtest. Start adjusting the mbc from there. BE CAREFULL!!! You will not need more than a few threads on the mbc to see 20+psi. I have but was lucky- no bent rods.
TRACStar
If the pressure set on the MBC is less than the pressure of the WG the MBC will have no affect. It sounds like you just need to adjust it. Of you have a boost gauge do a full turn at a time until it changes boost then use judgment from there to fine tune it. the strength of the spring inside will determine what your max boost can be. Some cheaper MBC's can only adjust to around 15psi max.
GltGreco
well the hallman pro rx comes with two springs, one that only lets you add another 5psi and one for 5+ added psi, but im not seeing any increase at all, its got to be something with the waste gate, but my cars in the shop getting my struts replaced, so i cant mess with it, and i need to get new bolts for my heat shield because when i did go to look at it i found that one of the bolts was bent so i letf it for the time being

mrbrightside2009
you may want to try and adjust wastegate rod one turn, i couldn't get past 6 psi with my old mbc until i adjusted it about 1 or 2 turns.
Exaudi855T5
This story makes me remember when I bought THE 850 T5 chip from Ebay... wasted so much time and money on this piece of s**t. It won't work properly, missfires, backfires, boost cut at anytime, wasn't boosting at 16 psi like mentionned. You get for what you pay for... L8 APEKS
i understand the halman is expensive... If $69 is too much money for a quality part, he'd better sell the Volvo now! ;)

GltGreco
well mbcs are pretty simple devices, if its well made, it should work fine, there is no reason for it to be expensive, i just went with the hallman because i knew it was a good build
