mustang
All, Lot's of problems and discussions around faulty ETM's. Even after the recal mine still acts up from time to time. I just cleaned mine and video taped the proceedure. Can't guarentee this will fix irregular idle issues, but it did in my case. Hope this helps. JesterKB
Mustang, thanks for the post. I would have made the dumb mistake thinking the bolts on top held the ETM!!! All well's with mine (so far) at 105K miles. I'm hoping the synthetic oil will make a difference. Anyhow, some forum members seem to think so. Now will the electronics hold up? My car went into service March 01, so I have about a year's warrenty left. After that, broken or not I'll probably go the aftermarket replacement part, so I know this is coming! Crito
The Bosch ETM on 2002-2004 2.9L NA S80's are a whole lot better, and much easier to clean too.
Ihatespeedbumps
Great video I am going to add this to the ETM thread pinned at the top of this forum. The only critique I would have is the use of standard carb cleaner. That stuff has been known to kill a few ETM's. I would recommend only the Volvo cleaner or WD-40.
