rbodor3
For those that have done a leakdown test on our cars, this is the first time I've done it. Advice, tips, walkthru accepted....
rbodor3
Well it's as easy as any other leakdown test, for the most part. With of course the exception of the TDC mark on the head FYI this requires a 30mm socket for S60 to turn hand crank the car Here's my results, and I need some help interpreting this if somebody can step in. I did multiple checks and took an average number to make sure these were reliable, all @ about 100PSI (read from pass->drivers sides) 1. 25% all heard thru dipstick 2. 27% all headr thru dipstick 3. 20%, all heard thru dipstick 4. 20% dipstick 5. 15% dipstick I think I should do a compression test because these are a bit off from each other more than I would like. There was also a massive amount of oil leaking into the 4th cylinder, i will post pictures this evening.
S8ET6
I'm not quite following you. How do you know oil is leaking into cylinder # 4? Are you saying that you pressurized your system to find boost leaks or conducted a compression leakdown test?
rbodor3
I posted this into the performance section, because my new question really is more about the performance of the engine's being affected by these numbers not really maintenance, http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/index.php/topic/128755-leakdown-test/
