mikeR
I have a Pioneer DEH-3600 deck with 2 10" Infinity Reference subs with 160 RMS to each. I have the 8 factory speaker system. Im looking to use just front door and rear deck speakers. Will I hear a difference between reference and kappas? Does going from 8 to 4 speakers sound worse? Thanks for your input

Thanks for your input←Go with fron doors and tweets, and rear doors, remove the rear deck speakers. This is tried and true. Especially if you're installing subs. You will hear a difference betweeen the two. No, going from 8 (which is really 6) you will not notice a difference. Search through the audio pages man, you'll find a bunch of good info... Thanks for your input←The references and the kappas will pretty much sound the same if you use your HU to power it up. If you power it up with an amp, the sound will be different because kappas has deeper magnet and bigger wattage (I think kappas can handle better on the lower frequencies, everything else should be the same). Bing_0
headunit power: not much difference in sound, infact, the reference will tend to sound a little better with its higher sensitivityampliifer power (true aftermarket amp), kappa will definetly sound better than reference, more midbass, less distortion at higher volume...
