thewhiteguy1
okay. so i installed my boost gauge today. everything was fine, firewall passthrough etc went well. problem is the vac lines. i got 3/16 vac line, which was perfectly fine and all, but it doesn't exactly work with my gauge. gauge is an autometer cobalt 30inhg-20psi. the tubing is not big enough to fit with what is on the back of the gauge, and i cannot find anywhere that sells npt fittings with 3/16 barbs. help? v4lve
??? I have an autometer gauge and it uses hard line, not typical vac line. Did it come with any install kit or anything? I think i have a few feet of the hard line if you want

TrboBrk216
that little thing is called a "farrel" i believe, and personally, from my experience i wouldnt use anything but the hard plastic line the gauge comes with, because bigger vacuum line in my experience tends to collapse and cause inaccuracy. but as for that hard plastic line not reaching the vacuum tree, if it is still packaged and coiled up, it is PLENTY long enough to reach the vaccum tree. there are a couple of plastic t's that come with the gauge inside the box in the packaging, and there is a rubber reducer specifically for the plastic line, plastic line goes in the small end, and then the big end goes on to one side of the t. the other two side are to be ran in parallel with of course a vacuum line going to the intake manifold. hope that helps

You can get them from NAPA or similar - they're called compression sleeves though you'll get to learn that everyone in the store has a different name for them Get a few, once they're on and compressed you have to cut them off, they're only a few cents. 6' wasn't enough for my A pillar gauge, I had to extend it to the vacuum tree with the thinnest vac line i could get. Go to Lowes they have the compression fittings you need.
thewhiteguy1
smallest size lowe's has for a compression fitting is 1/4" and that's too big for my gauge lol. I did find the missing parts for my homemade mbc though lol
