Project 1997 850R Btcc

Story behind this car from what i know is. It originally was from someone who made the car in Boston Mass area. Car was purchased by someone in the Philadelphia PA area in 2003. In 2006 then owner come to my shop to get some upgrades done. I install a ton of equipment about $4000 worth.

Some time in 2007 he tears up the right front fender, front "R" bumper and destroys one triton. he buys my spare DTM Front bumper.

Fast foward January 2010. I get a phone call from the previous owner about HIDZ in his 2006 R500. Of course i ask about the car. Turns out since he had his baby 8 months ago, this baby has been neglected for almost the past year. Just sitting in the driveway collecting tree sap, leaves, bugs, twigs, ect. Also just stopped with the maintenance too. Going to look over the reciepts in the glove box about the car. Stickers under the hood say 80k timing belt service from dealer, 120k Coolant service. Saw some reciepts for two new O2 sensors for about $600 :o recently the car was broken into, in the city(philadelphia). stole the radio, broke the drivers front glass, glass place fubar'd the locks and the window moldings. passenger side front door rub strip is fubar and fender rub strip is missing. ABS/Tracs lights are on so is the service light(pull the bulb and we ok :lol:). surprisingly the car does not have a CEL on after sitting for so long. then again, i did not put more than 1/2 mile on the car since i took delivery of the car Jan 16,2010. Had the car for a week before i made the previous owner a offer on it.

  • Downpipe (brand unknown yet looks like s BSR)
  • Exhaust (brand unknown yet, need to get it on a lift)
  • MBC of some sort
  • ECU Tuning of some sort it boosts to 17-19psi
  • OEM Reverse Intercooler Pipe Kit
  • Boost Guage with pod.

So far replaced driver front door check. Got new Rub strips for the pass door and fender. removed all the messed up decals. remove the spoiler and roof moldings so i could deep compound and wax it easier. spent 3hrs with 2 people removing the hood decals. almost 3 hrs compounding it and waxing the hood for what you see now in the next few pictures. got rid of the borbet 15's and mounted up a set of 18" pegasus with sumitomo HTRZ-II 225/40/18. i swore i'd never get a set of pegs, but IMHO fit this car's look.

Swapping out the rear arm rest for a booster arm rest. Installing my Recaro Booster seats, one blue for my son and one pink for my daughter. those booster seats are so perfect for this car! lol :D

Repairs Up next:
  • major engine degrease. I installed a new oil cap to stop the oil from coming down from the top.
  • tranny flush
  • new upper and lower coolant hoses
  • new vacuum lines
  • new radio with nav, sirius, ipod and internet :o

Pending the outcome of the degrease then i will know what needs to be done next. PVC? Dipstick return o-ring, heater core, turbo return line, dreaded RMS(if it needs this then 5speed swap maybe coming)

And what did you pick this up for? Also what are the door and fender rub strips?

what do you mean? how much $? or why did i buy it?

Door rub strips i am referring to are the door moldings. the black crap that runs the lenth of our P1 cars and are body color with the x70's.

Cool. Interested to see what else you do to it. Bring it to a meet sometime!

its tough decision because now i have three volvo's that are modified in its own way! It will be at carlisle though!

I was referring to $$amount

to be polite, the deal was made and both parties agreed to the deal. I did not steal the car. Title transfer did occur.

edmunds has it at trade in $1675 to dealer retail $2550.

Just to give you a idea, purchase price is not in that price range. :ph34r:

We all know that KBB, Edmunds, Blue book ect value is a reference point for pricing. When it comes down to it, its weather the buyer or seller can come to a agreement. :lol:

back in april 2005 i found what i thought was this exact car, so i guess they made multiple. it was the showroom car for showtime volvo in Seekonk MA (now tasca). but it was for sale for a while. that one was a one owner car up until that point. no idea what happened to it.
