VolvoRine
Hey VS lovers! I wanted to know how can you manually reset the service light... it's weird because it only stays on for like 1 minute after I cranked it up and then turns off... I did a tune up (wires, sparks, cap, rotor) back in Sep 09 and recently changed my oil with OEM filter... but I wonder what else could it make it stay on... perhaps low level of fluids i.e. power steering, coolant, brake? Any thoughts or advices will be appreciated.. Thanks Josh
Oreo931
It is just an idiot light that is triggered to turn on every 5k miles until it is reset again. So once you reset it, it will turn on again 5k miles later. It doesn't mean anything. most people on here just pull the bulb out so the light doesn't come on anymore. http://volvospeed.com/850slight.php

I can;t help on the reset though since my 98;s all are not do-able without a tool. I think yours is though.
VolvoRine
Oh wow! That's retarded! so the only thing that will shut it off temporarily is trough the Special Volvo Scanner/Tool... or the other option just shut it off forever taking that bulb out... No...I posted a link to reset the light for 93-95 cars... And its not retarded to the average consumer that doesn't take good care of their car. They need lights to come on for them to feel the need to bring the car in.

Ihatespeedbumps
Step 1: Remove SRL bulb. Step 2: Done I usually take the CEL bulb out while I'm in there. No emissions testing FTW.

Ihatespeedbumps
And not knowing when you're running rich or have other issues FTL. Why have the light if turns on every day for the SAS? I could care less. I check for codes every few months, there are never any of importance ;)
