855
Are you talking about the sliding shade that covers the glass? If so you have to remove the glass. Thats done by removing the plastic covers that cover the hinging mechanism, hiding the 4 torx screws. Sunroof has to be open in the tilted position. Then remove the 4 torx and flip the sunroof onto a blanket on your roof, pushing up from the FRONT of the glass. Then you can pull the shade closed and you will see 4 clips with a metal wire looking thing. You will see what i mean and should be able to pry/slide the clip releasing the metal piece with a small flat head. Be careful with the plastic though....mine was brittle and i broke one clip, but it was still functional. Repeat steps to reinstall and youre done
damitzmike
dam that sounds like a headache haha. did you have any leaks after? or did it seal up nice?
Falcone
Are you guys using the porcelin from sparkplugs for crack pipes again? OP, you do not have to remove the glass to get the shade slider out, not at all. You simply pull on one side evenly, and it will come out with some finessing. I have three un broken ones sitting in my parts room, and not one piece of glass was removed to get them out, un broken.

Doing this in a couple hours, just want to confirm that this is the correct way of going about it...any additional info would be great
mkc70
Doing this in a couple hours, just want to confirm that this is the correct way of going about it...any additional info would be great My C70 shade came out with just the sunroof glass open. Pulled it out the top opening easily. Of course your's could be different, but Falcone's method was the same as mine.
855
I had no leaks after putting the glass back in. IIRC, there is no way you can take the shade out without breaking the clips *edit I didnt see he has the main headliner out already

Removing the metal spring on each clip(4 total, look and see if yours has springs that can be removed, looks like the springs on the front calipers)made it so that each tab recessed completely. Both methods should work fine, just what he feels more comfortable on his vehicle. Note: Pulling shade out from the top has no bearing whether the rest of the headliner is in or out.
