Mesoam
no, if you're lucky you might be able to peel the roof trim off then prep and paint it or just find used X70 ones which don't have the same problems as the 850's

impulse922
small foam paintbrush + nitrile/latex gloves are necessary for application
Serge
small foam paintbrush + nitrile/latex gloves are necessary for application It dyes the trim quite nicely, but you can still see wavy lines and imperfections. Painting removes all imperfections and makes for a beautiful result.

Kevin.
You can, since it'll flex well. I used plastidip, and it worked fine too. Lowe's carries it. For that, I'd recommend scraping them down to the bare metal (a Dremel works best for that, off the car obviously), scuffing them to help adhesion then using some Pastidip. I had done a write up, as had Chuck on it, I'll dig one up for you. Lin to fixing roof trim I checked out your write up, but how do I actually REMOVE the roof trim off of the car so I don't F up everythingI've been wanting to do the roof trim for quite some time because mine look friggin terrible
impulse922
did you clean the trim properly before applying? yup, cleaned it at about 6pm one day, drove around a little and let it dry over night. It dyes the trim quite nicely, but you can still see wavy lines and imperfections. Painting removes all imperfections and makes for a beautiful result. if you want to take the trim off my car, i'd love to paint it, but me and plastic stuff usually dont get along very well. It looks 100x better than it did and that is good enough for me ;)
