bogelo
I just wanna share the joy of racing fuel. @$6/gallon, costed me $60 to fill up the tank mixed with 93 chevron. You can feel the difference in performance (for turbo-charged) but it's rather expensive If you haven't changed your fuel lately, now it's time :)

If this were out in the gas station, it should say 105.

bogelo
Just got free 15 gallons of toulene from local painter. Still thinking whether I want to be exposed with that toxic thing or not.

gray1g
The sheety thing about leaded gas is that it kills you o2 sensors. And our o2 sensors are way to expensive to kill over a tank of gas.I run c16 in my talon and have to replace the sensor three time throught the race season. :D
bogelo
free??? why can't I be so lucky ←I wanna try toulene for my other car and I asked around for toulene at the paint shop, priced at @11/gallon. Fortunately, one of the employees said that there is some1 wanted to give it away 15 gallons of toulene. 2 5-gallon cans are new and the other can was opened. They are 5 years old, that's why i'm still considering.I read most articles that they sell toulene for $2.5/Gallon? I called every paint store in town and no one can sell lower than $10/Gallon. Fortunately I don't have to buy toulene @11/gallon. Anyone who knows where I can get toulene $2.5/gallon, hook me up.
lax01
you can't....I don't know anyone who can get Toulene for that cheap....I don't know who was smoking what when they posted that....Xylene was also $10/gallon at Home Depot and other stores....there's no way....but the way it works out, if you do the math, I think, is it cheaper than buying 100 octane race-gas....I dunno about 5 year old Toulene....ask a Chemist how long the stuff is supposed to last....you might hurt the motor putting that old of stuff in....I know gasoline doesn't last 5 years
Turbo Brick
Call around to every paint and body shop in town and see if they'll sell Toluene/Xylene and how much they want. You may get lucky and find it for cheap. Remember, Xylene has an Octane rating 3 points higher than Toluene, so if you find Xylene for near the same cost as Toluene, grab it. Also the "DIY race gas" thread I posted a while back was just copied information that you'll find elsewhere on the net. The prices are a bit outdated (unless you get lucky as mentioned above; there was a place in town that sold it for less than $3/gal but they went out of business) and the figures are even incorrect now that I go back and look at it. I guess that's what I get for posting while at work. I'll fix it eventually. ;)
lax01
I hear Xylene doesn't burn as clean as Toluene and that Toluene is actually better for your car...even with the lack of octane...
