~ Help For Haiti ~

Recommended Posts

My girlfriend of 8 years has a heart for helping people around the world wherever needed, and she is putting on an art show to raise $10,000 dollars to support the children of haiti that are without food and water, i am asking for help in a couple of ways.

I.E $1.50 a day provides a child with 3 meals a day, a shelter and clothing

a) If you are an artist, whether it be drawing, watercolor, oils, graphic design art etc, we would be a great help if you could come up with a piece of artwork, whether unframed or framed to donate towards the art show. I will cover shipping to the venue where it is being held.

B) A small monetary donation of any amount you could give whether it be $.50 left in your paypal, to whatever you would feel to give.

Here is the link to the website created by my girlfriend, and in association with Ed Lockett, a missionary in Haiti.

Note* Please contact me through PM if you wish to donate artwork, for paypal donation please put your VS id in the remarks box, so we can keep a record.

Sincere thanks to all who have the heart to help

Chile is of more value to me, I enjoy their wines. I am actually concerned about the price of my favorite cab sav

Precious.

check out and see if the vineyards got whacked, then invest in wine futures of the best .

shortage= price increase.

Then any money you make, send a chunk to Haiti.

I +1 you for your effort to provide relief. My art is done in crayon.

Agreed Travis, but we're not talking about alcohol  , we're talking about lives and both countries need help, its just that both me and her have close friends that live there and do mission work, so the money would be sent through their mission

We have raised almost $2000.00 dollars already, and the art show is still some time away

Thank you chuckles, i agree with you for the most part, but my girlfriend doesn't see it the way i do, so to show my support i posted.

Oh I appreciated that. I'd post here too for tazzy. Natural disasters are not lotto tickets though. I am 100% on board for anything on earth we can do for rescue and medical effort. Food, and everything else not at all. They did not have food before why should they now. I'm just gonna say it. On the macro-scale the earthquake was the best thing to happen to Haiti in the last 400 years. Has your GF been to Haiti? I have. Fuck Haiti.

Both me and my girlfriend have been to Haiti twice but not in the past four years. The proceeds will be going towards rebuilding housing, and a school just outside of porta prince that was destroyed in the earthquake, and also food/clothing etc.

The problem with Haiti? Its an extension of African tribal economics.

THey took all the aid for the last 40 yrs and bought hookers and blow. Not a piece of re-bar in sight. The money has the potential to be flushed down proverbial toilet. Again I commend your effort, but I fear you will be doing this again in a few years and nothing will change.

Chile on the other hand, despite its rampant looting, had a plan, and a construction code, and a Democracy. People were financially and politically stable. The loss of life and destruction, even with quake 500 times stronger than Haiti's, was minuscule.

I wish them well, I've made donations thru my church.

By a tent, and a cooler. Send it direct , I guess, no cash to be "lost".
