FAST850R
Re: throttle cable. Use sport mode. If you're looking for more immediate throttle response within your current gear, and you're sure you have no vacuum leaks, then you're probably going to want a higher compression motor. If you shorten your throttle cable, you will just make the car idle higher and it will be like driving around with 1/4 throttle all the time. Modifications that increase throttle response are a lighter and/or larger diameter crank pulley, and poly motor mounts. Neither will probably give you the kind of low end 'pep' you are looking for. FYI, since I'm betting you don't know this, TRACS is auto disabled after 25mph You can use it when you drive in snow, but it probably won't help you much. Thank you for the answer. I gotta check vacuum leak first I guess. My car is not responsive...well maybe it's normal for an automatic...I don't know, I have been driving manual cars. To check vacuum leak, I spray a carb cleaner around vacuum hoses while car is running, correct? I wish I can drive other members' volvo 850r to compare mine. That way, I know whether my car is running fine or not :)
swedishiron
I found TRACS on my '98 C70 very effective on snow and ice when we had a snow storm here in Atlanta. I pulled up a hill that was covered with ice and snow and heard the ABS module churning all the way up, the car stayed straight and true.
ozzimark
so then I can just leave it on when im DDing right? It will do no harm? Do you think Volvo would put in a system that causes harm and enable it by default? Just leave it on. It kicks on when you really need it, which is when it's wet or icy out. I've never ever had TRACS engage when it's dry. Ever.
