Roger B.
I was sent here with a link that doesn't work anymore.... This link: http://www.volvospeed.com/vs_forum/index.php?act=ST&f=13&t=4665 found in this article : http://volvospeed.com/obd2/subinstall3.htm I am looking for a way to connect the allready built in aftermarket amplifier with 4x RCA connectors to my Volvo CT 906 radio. At the back there is a DIN-like connector looking at the back side of the radio it's at the right corner next to is there is "AMP" in the metal so I suspect it to be a pre-amp-out. The link should send me to a guide to make an adapter from this DIN-connector to RCA-jacks... Can anyone help me with this?
crazykn
I believe you need the link in my post signature. A while back I wrote a write-up on how to make the adapter. You will also need the article in the reference section of the Volvospeed main page to build the 4 channel version of my adapter. By the way, what is the CT-906? is this for a newer Volvo? P.S. The article is slightly out of date. The correct part number for the 6-Pin DIN Connector is 171-0276 at mouser.com and it cost less too!
BEJinFBK
You'll find several prefab options on eBay. Search "Volvo Amp".
Roger B.
By the way, what is the CT-906? is this for a newer Volvo? THe radio has previously been used in a Volvo V40 (european car, I don't know weather Volvo uses the same types in the US) THe owner hes bought a new used car last week, a Volvo C70 manufactured in 2000 with a 2,4 turbo engine. He would like his radio (CT 906) to work in his new car, but the precious owner has built in a after-market amplifier and the "normal" speaker wires could not be found in the space where the radio should be. There are 4 RCA-type cables AND the original din-calble behind the radio, so I suspect there has been an factory amplifier in the left rear wing, but the previous owner has taken that out and replaced it with an after-market amplifier. I will have a look at Ebay, but ordering this kind of adapter in the US takes too long to get here and probably cost too much for shipping and customs, I think making it ourselves is the fastest and probably cheapest way ;-) Thank you very much for all your help.
