TaskMule
Look we even have a guide LOL : http://volvospeed.com/Mods/fiberglass_sub_enclosureII.html Thanks for the linkie, Chuck. It was more a question about the Bose "spare tire sub" that comes in some of the Murano's and Acura's. There are a bunch of them on eBay, and I was looking for wiring info and whether or not it had a built in amp. My basslink is overkill for my needs, and I miss having my spare in the back of the wagon.
db130
most of the spare tire subs from other cars that are from the factory are self-powered. the one i have for a 2003 mazda protege5(made by pioneer) is self-powered(good) but its harness uses speaker level inputs(bad) that clips onto the speaker wires of one of the rear speakers. TaskMule
Good to know. Thanks for that. I want to avoid that speaker level input thing, I don't believe it is as good as rca inputs.
JVC
you can get a speaker level converter which you mount to the speaker lines then it has RCA outs... they're like 20 bucks from Best Buy.

Yeah, but then I am still using speaker level signal, simply a plug conversion, isn't it? As I understand it, RCA right off the main HU is the way to go. Cleaner signal. Correct me if I'm wrong, I don't know a whole lot ab out this stuff.
JVC
It is cleaner with just RCA's but I was just stating thats another possible option for ya.
