Bing_0 Posted December 4, 2004 Report Share Posted December 4, 2004 oh, i find it extremely hard to believe that there is no rattling with a w7, i certainly think that you DONT HEAR any rattling, but i am almost certain there is rattling...try this, play a 0hz to 200hz sweep test tone, disconnect your interior speakres or turn them down if they are not high passed, and then see if you can hear rattles, inside or otusidet he car with a loud enough sub and musical material, you definetly wont hera much rattling, but trust me when i say its their i have never ever had a car wtih a moerately powered subsystem and have no rattles b Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
spottieottie Posted December 5, 2004 Report Share Posted December 5, 2004 I actually had this sub out of my old 4runner which got broken into, and at the time I had a 15" Titanium Eclipse sub, with an arc audio KAR 900 amp. That all got stolen, that was also a load of money. Now after all the insurance was taken care of, my insurance company bought me a whole new system, ie the 10"JL W7 and everything else that was taken too. Back to the point, the sub alone with its factory box from JL cost like 799.00. I would say if you are on a budget or you want to spend your money on a good sounding system and have some left over for like a turbo upgrade or something like that then I would go with Audiobahn. They hit darn hard and for the money you are going to spend that would probably be the way to go. On the other hand if you want to blow your nuts off then hands down go with the 13" W7. The 10" that I have hurts my chest when I have it turned up, so whos to say what the 13" will be like with the proper amp. ←So then what do you like better of the Eclipse or the JL? I only ask becuase when looking at subs a guy told me that Eclipse is a wiser buy because the cone is replacable unlike the JL. But who ever blows a JL esp. a W7 ? I also think that my spoiler rattles too, other than that I am having a blast with the W7. I love the MB quarts, and it hits harder than you could imagine..How do you think a W7 would sound in a S40 Sedan, because I'm thinking about selling my 850 and am wondering if it'll sound good. I guess its probably going to be the same as my 850 sedan, but not sure.. Anyone with knowledge let me know. Thanks.
