hgray14
1995 850 Turbo When I take off from a stop and sometimes through second gear I can hear some faint whinning. It seems to go away after a little while. I don't think it is coming from the engine since reving the engine while in park doesn't cause it. I did have a whinning sound a while back (that I never took care of) that we figured had something to do with the oil pick-up but this new whinning is different. It sounds more suspension related since I want to say that you can kind of 'feel' the noise as well as hear it, although in both cases it is quite faint. Could it be an axle or universal joint? What should I do to narrow down what it might be? I am quite comfortable getting under the car so if it is easier to just do a visual inspection I am up for that too. thanks Houston

hgray14
You have checked the power steering fluid level? No I haven't and although the whine sounds kind of like power steering it doesn't happen when I turn.
