JMK33
Who cares, I refuse to drive a car without bright headlights it makes such a difference. A nice 4300-6000k kit looks great in good housings compared to a 10k kit in stock housings on some shit box anyways, those are whats distracting. SlapShot
I don't care about legality but this reminds me that i'm still up in the air between a 35w 4300k SharpHID kit or 65w Osram halogens. I feel like the answer is HID...and maybe some e-codes too EDIT: Or maybe 5000k...

HPTDoh
AIM YOUR HEADLIGHTS CORRECTLY Biggest thing. OEM HIDs are just as distracting, IMO. Especially for trucks/SUVs where you often sit under the cutoff

You mention bright headlights and then refer to 6000k HIDs? 6000K was a joke compared to 4300k as far light output, even in my BiXenon projectors. Stick with 4300k for the best output. just thought this was interesting.... You didn't know this? Any modification to your headlights is illegal. Putting HIDS in stock reflectors is just stupid. But even a proper retrofit using all OEM projectors, bulbs, ballasts..etc is still technically illegal and "for off-road use only"
magicaljake
4300k Ecodes AIM YOUR HEADLIGHTS CORRECTLY no issues +1 you can't be dumb with how you angle it and wonder why you get flashed...duh that being said... i do not have HID's in my s70.... i did in my 850 though for 1.5 years... and got flashed like twice... and that was on a hill and i wasn't even sure if it was because of my headlights
Jaxx
The reason it's illegal is because there is no filament. It's the way the law is written. and the main reason that most housings suck with HID conversion kits is because the point at which the light is coming from is moved forward or backward in the housing, making the reflection pattern a bit hard to predict. --Aaron--
4300k Ecodes AIM YOUR HEADLIGHTS CORRECTLY no issues You mean aim them wayyyy up high like mine? And wonder why a cop gives you a friendly warning to remove them? I aligned them when I first got the car and always thought they were level.....now that they're correctly aimed I might just go 4300K sometime in the near future.....
