Usa-Spec Issues

Does anyone else here use the usa-spec ipod adapter? I have had this issue: where the CD player on my hu-613 will not play CD's until i switch inputs from tape/fm/am/changer, then back to cd a few times to get the head unit to play the cd. I have been fiddling with the "source" button every time I use the head unit and it's starting to get old. The head unit plays CDs like normal when the usa-spec module is unplugged from the cable leading to the back of the head unit. This seems to me a rare problem, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that one of you guys will have an idea

Unless you have the factory changer plugged into the same port(for comparison) then you can't rule out that the problem is internal on the 613.

Good luck getting a response from USA-Spec to an email. Call them: 626 336 3836.

Vaguely recall your thread. If your adapter is broken, then my offer is $15 shipped.

Mine turned out to be a bad cable. I had to send my unit in. When you call them, they give you a return authorization number, which I believe I had to write on the outside of the package. They tested it and called me and told me how much for a new cable. I said "sure" and they sent me a new cable with my unit. Works great now. Cable was around $12 IIRC.

Figured the cable was your problem. At least it was an inexpensive repair.
