mikie
Hey guys, wanted to get some feedback. I've been searching the past couple of days but haven't found enough info to come to a decision. I know someone on VS with a yellow 850 has the Kaplhenke coilovers with camber plates but can't find him or the post. I'm having a hard time making a decision... With KW's I will get the drop that I want without sacrificing comfort too much (I'm assuming) but still have to deal with constantly replacing the spring seats and strut plates "often"... So this is why Kaplhenke came to mind (camber plates) no more spring seat and strut plate replacements and I get the drop that I want. I'm just worried about ride quality and our roads are bad in Montreal, any possible damage to the car without those rubber bushings? Currently I'm riding on 18x8 Volution V's (225/35 tires), bilstein HD + EST springs. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

550
With KW's you don't replace that stuff that often. At least I haven't had to. Biggest thing for me is control arms.

I go through control arms almost once a year, spring seats and strut plates I guess every two years. Just something to minimize I guess.
550
You should look into the IPD HD spring seats... I don't have any issues.

harleyhv
Ball joints seem to get chewed at the rate of one pair a year for me. Kinda sux. +1 here. for spring seats => xc90 spring seats could be another alternative.

fischmama
Ya mine lasted 5k lol I bought the cheap replacements from FCP...we'll see how long they last on my car. For the price I can almost go through 4 of them until they pay for one OEM. But I'll probably swapt o OEM once they show a sign of weakness. 550
OEM have lasted me the longest so far. And yes, the no OEM lasted right around 5k. And they were TOAST after one autocross. (Bushings failed at the subframe)
