Did I Damage Transmission Shaft Removing It?

I am attempting to take apart the engine/transmission for the first time ever on a car. Not sure what to do. I tried to follow Haynes directions (see below). I removed the torque converter bolts and then the transmission to engine housing bolts, then stopped to take a picture. As I pulled the jack away the transmission kinda flopped over, possibly pressing the input (output?) shaft against the torque converter. Wasn't for more than like .5 secs. Think I will be OK? Anyway to check it?

Also I am kinda new at this stuff but I am confused about the torque converter. When I took it off Haynes said to undo the bolts form the flywheel but wanting me to hold it against the flywheel. Well that is impossible, it slid out with the transmission. Uh-oh or not a big deal? Also when putting the transmission back on the engine do I fill the torque converter up with new DexIII and then place onto the transmission input/output shaft then place that assembly onto the engine? Because if I am reading the Haynes right that is what you do but then a bunch of transmission fluid spills out onto the transmission from the torque converter. What am I doing wrong?

Right now I'm on my practice car but when I do this for real I don't want to screw it up.
