Big 20G

hi guys am new to this site. well am from england and over here we only have the 16,18 and 19t which is a direct bolt on , i have a manual saloon t5r in olive green that needs more power , i have seen a few post of poeple with a 20g . i had a quick look to see what these were and there off the td05 and td06 series turbo , what is involed with this sort of upgrade. cheers and how do you read messages that you have already read , thanks guys

This my HRC 20g Install Thread.

Since you're FWD, it'll be somewhat easier to deal with the plumbing.

I fabricated steel oil/water lines, some use flexible line w/AN fittings.

clock the compressor housing, & retap for the actuator..

You'll have to fabricate a custom DP, of course.

Get TurboTuner for the tune. You won't find an off-the-shelf tune that will work properly.

how much power are you running with that, and whats the lag like ,and could i change the exhaust housin so i could run a 3inch down pipe

Who advised you of this? That turbo is along the lines of a TD05H-20G.. What are your goals for the car? Powerband in terms of RPM, horsepower? I think if you have that turbo already, you'd be crazy to try to replace it with a 20G.

just some lads on the english forums m8 , i want as much power as i can get really , i know i will need a diff and brakes etc to cope with the power.

the turbo is .50 on the compressor and .63 on the exhaust side , i dont know much about turbos and was wantin to run it with external waste gate

I'm working on getting over AWD 300WHP - recent dyno was only AWD 260WHP - the tune is key

(homemade) 3" DP :D

Also curious to know what the rationale for NOT using that turbo was....

every said its not a good turbo and wount fit , not sure apart from that m8

its defo not goin on a stock block lol , am busy rebuildin 1 at the min , well i havent started , i need to get some rods and pistons. i want as much power as possible , i got the turbo for free so thats why am tryin to fit it in lol., i want the car to responsive aswell

the external gate part might be a problem :unsure:
