I ran a T3/T4 in the past and it worked very well (even on the stock engine)

I looked at the pics you uploaded and I wouldn't use that turbonetics wastegate that came with that t3/t4. Get rid of it, as it is worthless. Get an ATP UIWG or weld up an external gate :)

PS: love how your car looks, makes me remember how mine used to look before I butchered it into a semi race car :(

I mentioned over PM but may as well mention here since everyone's reading. Those cheap e-bay copy turbos will hit the transmission mount severely due to their turbine housing design. Tried it once, didn't even remotely fit. Garrett housings and turbonetics housings fit just fine... But not the cheap chinabay ones.

its a .50 a/r on the comp side and .63 on the exhuast side , av got some other bits of turbo lying around from some old garrett t3, would it be worth gettin it rebuilt with some decent bearings etc

I am running a 50 trim on my stock block currently and with an external gate to boot.

Its all coming of monday though  Built block and gt3071r will be in the car by the end of next week :o

.50 AR as the only compressor spec screams chinabay "T3/T4" (won't fit in an 850). Different than a 50 trim T04E compressor although I'm pretty sure you know that ;) Chinabay is usually a copy of a 57 trim T04E wheel (not as good as the 50).

Your car should be pretty exciting... Going to keep the external gate setup? Might encourage me to look in the show room for once

Hard to say. That's quite pricey for a no-name turbo. If it was real mitsubishi, I don't see why they wouldn't advertise it as such. Also, no specs on inlet/outlet dimensions, and you'll need a complete external WG setup.

I'd say contact Hahn Racecraft & see how much they get to ship to the UK, their 20g is Mitsubishi, an I doubt they'll charge more than the 60quid that place is asking for shipping...

My external setup is like this,

ATP-VEVO-023_450-7.jpg

There are some differences but its the same idea. Of course I had to make pretty much everything myself, including the flanges for turbo-downpipe and gate to downpipe flange.

My new setup will be using the ATP UIWG for now. If I decide I dont like it I can always make another external setup like the old one. Not likely though :D
