Kevin.
Just got my 4300k HID kit from SharpHID today. Any tips or tricks before I get started on this?
JMK33
Make sure you seal the gaskets with silicone so no moisture gets in, and aim them correctly
Kevin.
I have to drill out the plastic on the back of the housing so I can get the wiring in, correct? Shouldn't be too hard after that I suppose
JMK33
Yes, I used a 1in. diameter circular drill bit to make a hole, the robber gasket should fit pretty snug. The silicone an extra precaution I guess
Kevin.
So I have everything all set up, ballasts are secured, but the bulbs won't screw in! BOB SAGET!!! I can get them to partially screw in but I don't want to force them

Mattphi
I've always loved my HID kit. I went with the 6k to get a little more white. Definitely hard to go back to cars without it, after driving with them for so long ;)

Definitely hard to go back to cars without it, after driving with them for so long One thing I have noticed is that the 4300k doesn't seem as yellow as I though it would be. I was expecting white with yellow but instead they are white with a bit of purple. Just was wondering if that was normal....this is my first HID kit instal :P
lengendsecko87
What kit did you get? SharpHID? I think it's normal.
JMK33
4300K is the most white light you can get from HIDs, upwards the light get more and more blue. Glad you got them installed
Kevin.
Yea I got 4300k from SharpHID. I mean, I'm not COMPLAINING about the light output I just wanted to know if a little purple was normal
(n)A-GAME
iirc it takes about 100 hours for HID bulbs to fully "burn in" and produce the true color. So, a little purple right now shouldn't be a big deal.
