Yeah, I'm hearing about this now, supposedly one way is with idler between P/S and Alt and the other is Alt and A/C. Apparently someone who knows more than I do thinks one way is better for the Alternator therefore, it charges better...?

either way they gave you the wrong belt. I've used the same one to route two different ways on my 94. You sure you didn't get an ac less belt?

Like said above, they gave you the wrong belt if the new one is shorter. New one should be longer then your old one or identical if its the new routing method.

Took the belt back to PepBoys today, and they told me again that this was the correct belt...

I got a refund and will visit my local Oreilys in the coming days. So, belt should be slightly longer and use newer routing, correct?

Nope...AC delete has an idler pulley in the place of the AC compressor so same belt...

Nope.... Mine doesn't, that is for sure. I have yet to see an idler pully in the ac compressor location that is stock, and not added. Usually people put them on so they can run the same belt, because it is almost impossible to get an oem a/c less belt (unless you like shipping from europe).

I could be wrong, but I have seen two factory a/c less cars here, neither had the pully. I looked at one when I did my ac delete so I could get a belt length, because they were running serp belts from a 4.6l merc.
