gilber33
get 4 washers like 4mm thick and space it out.Thats what I did. I'd love to, but last time I went to loosen the bolts for that metal plate they just sat there and spun. I don't know. I'll have to get back under there sometime and see where it's all rattling and what I can do. But that's a good idea. I'll do that if I can get the plate out. Keep Calm Chive On
to get them free try taking a larger screw driver and wedging it between the plate and the body. not like jamming it in but it will add some downward force to the screws and hopefully allow them to start to thread out. i did the same solution with washers to make sure i didnt have any rattles but i also spend 5 hrs installing it to guarentee there wouldnt be. there was modification to the heat shield down the center channel of the body behind the motor & i installed everything loosely then tightened from front to back. no noise no shimmy no drone. Good idea. Yeah, it didn't feel like anything broke, they just weren't coming out. But that sounds like it'd do the trick.

Yes that is...they are pretty long bolts as well...so, you removed and installed exhaust and the rear O2 sensor without removing that plate? That made it harder for you I bet. gilber33
Yeah, I never removed the plate for install. It was still a really simple install. Probably because I cut up my stock exhaust to remove it. But I didn't have any issue installing the exhaust with the plate in.

Just installed the OBX Exhaust system Thought people might want to hear how it sounds. It was recorded with iphone so its not the best. sounds nice! did you put a cat on it? WayAway
You definately wont regret it =) Yea Ive got rattles a couple of times but im not too sure where they are coming from..it isnt too bad...Im thinking its the large tip sticking out that is vibrating, I may need too get it cut and put further back Thanks, appreciate the videos No problem. I love my obx! You get any rattles from it? Mine rattles, it's annoying as stuff. I have to figure out a way to stop it. Heat Shields usually cause the rattle twards the rear, i just took mine out since it was basically ready to fall out
Keep Calm Chive On
it really is a solid exhaust. everyone likes it and idk what it sounds like as "other people" cause i dont let anyone drive it but im curious haha and actually that exhaust is the only reason im currently inspected hint hint wink wink cough cough they liked it and focused their attention away from other areas

All sorts of things to check out once I can jack up the car.
WayAway
The heat shield in the rear? All sorts of things to check out once I can jack up the car. I never jacked it up, i just got so annoyed of that rattle, especially in drive throu's(dunkin donuts), one morning i got underneath and relized it was a metal shield were the pipe goes over the suspension, and i kid you not, i just pulled it out because it was soo rusted. But keep in mind every car and fitment with the OBX is different. Best thing to do its while the car is at an idle, get underneath, locate the rattle and go from there. Falcone
heatsheilds should come off and be thrown away anyway's. James, sounds awesome. What you going to do for an e-test, temporary high-flow cat? Cheers
Turbosleeper
Well I was going to order an extra test pipe and weld a high flow cat to it and then when its time to go for emissions i will clamp that test pipe in for the test and then after the test i will clamp back the original test pipe. But it seems like there might a be a new owner of the car and that person will be driving it to carsisle. I am most likely going to be coming down with a 97 850 awd wagon with a m58 tranny..woohoooo!!!!!
SomeGuy
for the rattle, one of the best things you can do is replace the shitty v band clamps that come with it... made a huge difference on mine putting on quality claps
SomeGuy
like these V-bands also, no more leaks.
