mkc70 Posted April 17, 2010 Report Share Posted April 17, 2010 How? Either use a multi-meter and test for continuity or with a small lead, wire the tweeter directly to the supposedly bad amp channel. washdup Posted April 17, 2010 Author Report Share Posted April 17, 2010 Thanks mk. For now, first step is I'm going to check the EQ settings and enjoy it even with the crippled amp. Then I'll have to decide whether the bass is sufficient as is, and if not, decide whether the existing speakers would be enough with a 100 x 4 Volvo amp, or whether to go with a different amp with 5 channels and some kind of sub setup. The latter option gives me some pause because there are so many choices about amps and subs and mounting locations, and then all the wiring, etc. Probably not that big a deal, but it's a new area for me and giving me some hesitation.
