Bah
http://new.volvocars.com/ownersdocs/1996/1996_850/96850_111.htm#pg1.12 idk if that helps any, but, does he have fuel in the car? LOL... Also, is the radio locked? Idremeber if its on the 850's or not, but i remember some cars trip wouldn't work if the stock radio was locked...pretty sure its not 850s, but worth a shot. Pull the battery for 10 minutes, come back after its all been reset and see if it goes away. It says for gas it gives a "---" but who knows... Check everything i guess? Bah
Also check the switch...i've heard it'll display switch if its the issue, but give it a look at. they do go bad every now and then. also: http://www.volvoclub.org.uk/tech/service/850/InstrumentPanel.pdf give it a look over, i didn't see anything about Lo C But im thinking Lo is NOT related to C... just a hunch. Anyways check fuel first.
