CJones16
Heres where I'm at.. - Contacted Lisa at Ikea to set up the meet, She was the last contact for last car show - Lisa now works in Pennsylvania and forwards my email to a person in Canton - Next person responds to the email rather quickly and says July 17th works - I try and contact that person to change the date.. No Responce - Gave them a few days (holiday weekend) and sent a new email to Ikea Customer Service - They give me a telephone number and tell me to contact Public Relations - I call the number.. which is to Ikea Canton and the person gives me a new number - Call that number and go through the process, get put on hold and then it says leave a message - Left a message explaining wanted to have a car gathering at Ikea canton on August 7th..blah blah and says they should get back to me within 24 hours Edit- They just called me and the lady was a total biotch, she gave me the first number - I resent a letter to Lisa, just asking if she can help me out Has anyone heard of Bakers? Its on Milford road and they have car shows every Sunday... lol

JVC
Theres a big show here in Chicago on the 7th, but If I have a Volvo by then then I would rather road trip and go to the Ikea meet you're setting up. the 7th is also my birthday! -John
esundell90
Well, awesome! Volvo's + Birthdays + beer = shaping up to be a darn good time! I'm really excited for this. Actually meeting some people who know something about these cars, lol. Only person I met in on here is MarkyMark since I bought my R front bumper from him this spring, which still need paint, lol. Maybe I'll actually get around to painting it before the meetup, but thats not very likely, lol

CJones16
Maria just got back from me and says August 7th is a no go... They have there 2011 catalog launching and expect the parking lot to be full... Anybody have a new location?
esundell90
not too acquainted with that area to help pick a spot. Any malls or sporting arenas that might do? Rattle can it red for the time being. I really need to find a weekend or something for once where I can sit outside with beer and sandpaper, and a can of paint, and get it done. gilber33
What about one of the IKEAs in Chicago? I think there's a couple.
esundell90
I'm not opposed. Honestly, Chicago is a shorter drive than downstate.
gilber33
It could be more central to the Midwest then? Just a thought. I don't know who was all planning on going from where and if there were people from the East planning on coming too. There this IKEA: IKEA Bolingbrook 750 E. Boughton Road Bolingbrook, IL 60140 Kinda on the Southwest end of Chicago, closer for people in Michigan than the other Chicago IKEA. Are there any other places in Michigan that have some sore of attraction?
esundell90
There are tons of places in MI that one could go to I think? Someplace nice, like Traverse City, or Charlavoix maybe Mackinac?, but thats kinda northerly for some folks. I don't know jack about ann arbor, detroit, GR area really, so I'm open to suggestions.
