The rear brakes seem to have the same brakes as an 98 v70awd just want to confirm this before I purcahse brakes for it. Big Will Posted April 16, 2010 Report Share Posted April 16, 2010 So often Volvo parts departments are clueless. Once you find a good parts person, be thankful and maintain that relationship. Anyway, to answer your question, yes you will have the same rear brakes as a 98 AWD car. Mid-2000 there is a chassis break and the rotors, pads, and calipers change...you can use these from a late '00 R AWD, but you will have to change the things I just mentioned, but you'll get vented rotors which are nice. You would need to slightly modify the backing plate as well behind the rotor to make it all fit right but that just requires a pry bar from what I remember.
