IPD sport springs for a daily

custom coil overs all around for weekend warriors

KWs for track use

/thread

I heard the IPD'd are low and stiff. The price is right but I need it to pass the bosses(wife) test. Can you send me a picture of your wagon on the IPD's?

I personally dont think they are that stiff. It all depends on the strut used. I have ran them on OEM, Blisten HD's, and Koni yellows. They rode a bit firmer than stock on the OEM struts/shocks. Hard on the Blisten HDs, with no adjustment. On the Koni's I can adjust them to stiff but not bouncy or hard hitting to full on go-cart suspension with about 1.5" of quick moving travel.

There are not a whole lot of pot holes on the paved roads around me but there is a ton of gravel roads. There isnt a gravel road around that doesnt have a wash board surface at every stop sign or narrow spot (except mine where I grade the road about once a week just to keep it flat and smooth)

H&R's are a solid choice....see my review here: http://volvospeed.co...130760-springs/

The IPD springs provide a bit too much drop for my personal taste, I'm glad I went with the combination I did. Which you can read about through the above said link. :D

If you go with them give NA Motorsports a call. :D

First of all, what struts are you going to be using? That will have a greater impact on the ride quality. If you plan on throwing lowering springs on the stock struts, the struts will not last long at all.

That said, I was very happy with the ride on Monroe struts + H&R springs, but I wanted to go lower.

I changed to Koni Yellows + iPd springs and that was the best combo for what I wanted. The car was a little lower, and the ride quality didn't decrease too much, at least with the Konis on the softest setting.

On both setups I had zero rubbing aside from a tiny bit at full lock. This was running 17" wheels with 215/45 tires.

ugggh love your car gerald!

coilovers FTW! your wife would not approve of my car lol

It looks a bit different now, euro rails, rear mud flaps (almost drag the ground), 1 coil lower in the back.

I am currently looking for a threaded body shock I can use on the rear with the right valving and attachment points. When I find some I will mount them, and machine a new top mount to fit the stock location. Then I can make the rear a true coil over system, and convert my front Koni yellows.

Springs and struts should really be considered as a package, not individually. The spring rate has to be matched to the strut such that the damper can properly control the spring. A stock or stock-equivalent strut matched to a sport spring will typically not have enough damping to control the stiffer spring, and you'll end up with a bouncy, uncontrolled ride.

How much were the Monroes? I cannot guarantee they'll match with the springs as well as the TC's but I hope you're happy about how it turns out. :D

Good choice on the springs!!

You can get the Monroe Struts and Shocks for ~$200 at RockAuto.com!

Also look into Kilen as those have a great drop for the money. FCP sell them.
