Opinion - Auto Tune In A Manual Car

Recommended Posts

You'll get a check engine light, and the rev's might drop more quickly in between shifts, but other than that it's fine. After my manual swap I drove on an auto tune for a couple weeks before I was able to get a manual tune.

and if I have SAS in my car but the tune doesnt...can I just leave my SAS in and it will jsut be dead weight?

Yes, and timing will be different, don't be surprised if your oil consumption goes up slightly.

I have been running an autotune in my manual s70 for about 8000 miles. If you don't mind a constant check engine light then go for it. I wish I would have been more patient for the proper tune cause the cel is starting to piss me off... the whole part about the revs well I can barely notice a difference.

I have a RICA stage II tune in my 1995 850T M (OBD1 from Canada) and no issues except the CEL's. You will have to deal with it. And yes the rev's drop more quickly in between shifts, and I personally find this awesome. I was bored about the increasing RPM's between each shifts.
