gavtodd
I don't know much about the v90...but if it has OBDII this is a great tool. http://www.plxkiwi.com/product/how_video.html I picked one up from ebay for about 80 bucks. And believe me, this thing beeping at you WILL increase your MPG. On the plus side, it also reads any error codes and can clear them.
rutledri
First road trip after the intake hose replacement netted 25 MPG. Best I ever got before was 21.
rutledri
Looks like the intake hose has been leaking for quite some time. The fitting on the back where the Flame trap fitting plugs into had deteriorated and the clamp hid the break until it completely came apart. I suspect it has been leaking for quite some time. Throttle response now is noticeably crisper and the shift points on the trans also changed after I replaced the hose.
Doityourselfer
Take all of the passenger seats out, install a less restrictive exhaust, lose the carpet and door panels. Otherwise the only other suggestions I can think of would cost more (potentially a lot more) than you would save in fuel costs over the life span of the car. Best thing to do is to vote people into office that understand that cheap energy is a good thing; and then buy a small car like a mini cooper with a manual trans., fun to drive and gets remarkable fuel economy. it's kinda wierd .... the 91-94 honda civics epa rating is 38 mpg while today's and from the last 5 yrs or so is only 24. this make sense?? check fueleconomy.gov yourself
