Bing_0
well, lets see, i think we should not just use 0-60, but fast overall, here are fast FWD cars right out of the box, whcih i define as having a 0-60 capability below 6s, and able to break 100mph in the quater mile Acura TL type S with 6 speedNeon SRT4the new nissan altima ser should be a pretty quick car
JDELUNA
i dont think they are nearly that fast←You are right..... my bust......Car and Driver did a test of it an it only did a 0-60 time of 5.8 secs. :)
volvo4lif3
actually, a brand new maxima has 255 hp stock.. Very quick cars, actually almost equivelent to my s80 t6... And no way, that a maxima with intake and exhaust is going to run "2002-2003 Nissan Maxima with some light mods such as intake and exhaust are in the mid 5 sec 0-60, and mid to high 13's in the qtr mile." Sorry, i don't think that wil knock it down over 1 sec. in the 1/4 and over a sec in 0-60 times. *
Ivanfbi
0-60? ferrari Enzo, 3 seconds....what is FWD anyways? Just kidding i think you should include c70 ht with 5speed, 246 hp(2002-up)also i remember something was built on base of 4 gen of honda accord, with different engine, looked like a supercar, but FWD and like v8 with like 4.5 seconds 0-60, i don't remember the name of the car. 850drag
From the factory, able to buy from a dealer, with any options that you can get FROM A DEALER. What car is it? FRONT WHEEL DRIVE ONLY!Acura RSX?SRT-4?VW A1 GTI?850R?And what is possible in a FACTORY FWD car? 5 sec? 4.5 sec?←Right out of the box, the SRT-4 is the fastest, its the cheapest sport car available too, those things are crazy.

The Stig
I think there's a certain limit you want to reach with a FWD car in maintain some degree of driveability. That's probably why we won't see anything much faster than the SRT-4 from the factory in the FWD domain. No one likes torque steer out of the box. That's reserved for people like us who do nasty things to nice swedish cars. =)

volflo
oh, fwd sorry for the donkervoort then...... me i think the ford focus RS is pretty quick and has one of the nicest FWD systems. All track road tests praise the focus for its superb traction and sensible steering / control.

wattsat
YOu're missing my point. FACTORY!!! NO MODS AFTER YOU DRIVE IT OFF THE LOT!!! WARRANTY!!Well then I think it is the SRT-4 hands down.Dodge has a whole slew of factory available performance parts that can be added as DIO (Dealer Installed Options) They all maintain the full factory warranty. Also, I think the classification for Sports Car is somewhat changing. No longer is a sports car determined by the number of doors.WRXWRX STINeon SRT-4EVO VIIMazdaspeed ProtogeRX-8All of those are 4 door cars and all of them are either very fast, handle very well or do both. Heck, most of those choices are faster than some new "Sports Cars".
