N/A Cams -Vs- Turbo Cams

Hi,

has anybody used the Cat Cams?

Cat Cams

Art nr: 7902709

Kamaxel

Passar:

5-cyl 20V Turbo

Kamlyft(m.m.): 9,40/9,25

Ventillyft(m.m.): 9,40/9,25

Öppnings-vinkel för insug/avgas spridningsv.: 246/240/110

Öppningstider: 9-58-57-3

Ventil lyft ö.d: 0,50/0,13

Can the piston to valve clearence take this lift?

^^ sick, never heard of them, thats alot of lift. Got a link for those? And should be fine.

weird how the cat cams intake duration is greater than the exhaust, its opposite for n/a cams

Thank you again for pointing them out, as of before, n/a cams were the only cam upgrades I had known about.

Just ordered a set. I was going to buy a set of matching rims, but that doesn't make my car any faster, just prettier, and I love how sh!tty it looks.

I'll post up pics of them when they arrive, should be about a week. And vids of when installed, i'm going to have wet dreams tonight. And if the lift is too much (doubt it), i'll let you know hoe fcked my engine is. Cheers

Just ordered a set. I was going to buy a set of matching rims, but that doesn't make my car any faster, just prettier, and I love how sh!tty it looks.

So I went to the wrecker today and found a 93 N/A. Hmmmm, I thought, there are some cams sitting in that engine that would go very nicely in my car. So after removing 30 billion 10mm bolts I walked out(paid) with some N/A cams.

I get home and place them next to the Turbo cams I had from my previous engine and I for the life of me cannot tell the difference. I am looking for some sort of lobe difference and I just cant see it.

Two options come to mind

1. The cams I pulled from my last engine were N/A cams already and now I have two sets

2. I just wasted a bunch of money.

3. Both 1 and 2.

Is there a way to tell, part numbers, mic, something.

the cams have some letters on them,from the side where is the distrubitor and cam sensor.to see if there aren't the same,check this out.

TURBO cams.Inlet writes PHI/exhaust writes PHE,from the N/A should write Inlet PGI/exhaust should write PGE.

the Cat Cams price is bad.

But a machine shop can regrind the NA cams to fit the Cat Cams profile???

Thats a good question! If we had the profile specs and it turned out the CAT cams had gains over the N/A

then a regrinding would def. be in order for the good of volvo performance everywhere lets find out something better than our N/A!!!

keep us posted! no way i'll have $1200 to spend on cams till i graduate and get a job :lol: but if they make a big difference maybe i'll get some then
