SlapShot
Now you tell me! And I was just at Harbor Freight Tools yesterday and saw those. I got something similar though, and only $4. I definitely have to pick one of these up. Every time I pop a panel off I seem to replace a clip or two...everytime i go to a junkyard i take every good one i can find haha

BEJinFBK
You'll still break clips - These cars are getting old and the plastic is brittle. But these tools do make it easier to get it all apart. You'll find other uses too. Handy Items!
firepuma
FWIW, VW door clips are the same and cheaper. I had a bunch lying around from an old fox and they fit right in.
washdup
FWIW, VW door clips are the same and cheaper. I had a bunch lying around from an old fox and they fit right in. Great tip--I just paid like $26 for 12 of them from IPD (with shipping). I have no local Volvo dealer any more, but VW is around the corner. . . . But got the job done and the Polks are in the fronts and they sound VERY clean. A bit less bass than before, but the mids and highs are exponentially better. I'm springing for a basslink now. When popping the panels, I learned it's important to position the tool right at the fasteners, or you can dislodge part of the door panel. But they glued back on with epoxy glue, and no problems on the second door (lesson learned). I'm getting a bit of unwanted vibration from the driver's side speaker, only, just when hitting ultra sub lows at high volume. Bummer. Not sure how to troubleshoot it. Thanks everyone for your help. Kevin.
Decided to go with Polk db651 for $68 a pair from sonicelectronix.com. Thanks Andy! Polk, IMO, makes extremely high quality speakers for the price. Never let me down, ever. $1.53 per clip from IPD. Wow. You bought the metal ones so they never break anymore, right?
