f1fanoly
Gonna be doing a motor swap in my '97 850glt wagon [water pump failure]and am wondering what resources there are besides my Haynes manual that I should read up on before attempting this.I know my way around an engine compartment pretty well but dont have any previous Volvo experience, this car is new to me.I found a couple engines near here that im gonna check out tomorrow.Low mileage V70's with same motor, that should work, right? Thanks for the help and advice if you have any. FCP Euro
This swap has been done many times so I would do a search and read as much info as you can. This will help you to find the problems you may run into while you are doing the swap.

the commissar!
This is basic but the biggest thing for me was marking every wire and vac tube, and keeping track of what nuts/bolts/screws/brackets go where. Otherwise it was straight forward. This was my first time ever and when I made the swap everything worked correctly on the first try (yea for me!) Replace all seals and such while that sucker is on the bench to save PITA later.
