Pre-Install Placement Advice

Also, I'm not a fan of having such a loud audio system that you can be heard 3 towns away. To me, that is something 16 year-old fags to when they get their grandma's 1992 Buick LaSabre to try and "get the girls". I could care less about how loud my setup is, as long as it sounds decent. Which even with the stock speakers, I've managed to do.

Weren't you the one that said, "the hustlers cry when my bass hits" or am I thinking of someone else?

No crap. I didn't have room for my 18" Concert Hall sub.

no idea how you got that RMS number, but w/e. My Rockford is 250 RMS, which is lame, but it hits hard for now. It's a lot harder than it was in the SUV, since there's less space to fill. My 18" sub is 800 RMS alone; hence why I have no way of powering it outside of my 1500 RMS rack-mounted power amp. I'd bet TyConn_S70 would vouch for the loudness of the 18" - I had this setup running off of a DC/AC inversion system in my SUV; and my inverter was undersized, so it limited the amps output a lot.

I don't expect you to understand all the nuances of the English language. But I've been writing since kindergarten, so I thought I'd help you out.

Faulty, it's in your profile - which was written at most ~7 weeks ago. If I could make another gentle suggestion: go back and edit your profile. It smacks of NOOB.

Edit: oh wait, I see you've done that today. ;)

you said your system is 1000 rms, look back through the posts

also, do u understand the concept of rms power? it represents where the sub will operate optimally and continually,

as where max means what it can stand to handle in smaller bursts

that being said if your huge sloppy ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD 18 is 800 watts rms why the monkey do you need 1500 to power it

lol man ur nuts

My original about me page for VS was copy/pasted from my FaceBook, which I updated just after I joined VS, and never got around to fixing the VS one. But yeah, I fixed it.

Again, it depends on what system you're referring to. I had a 600 RMS amp running the sub (which was underpowered) so I swapped that to the 1.5KW RMS one. The door speaker amp was most likely in my count of 1KW RMS.

And the reason I needed a 1.5KW RMS amp doesn't exist. I didn't need it that big, but it was the only amp I had laying around that was more powerful than the 600 RMS one I had before. For reference, the sub is a Behringer B1800X Pro (800 RMS/1600 Peak)

im scared to ask you how you wired your dual 4 ohm voice coils lololol

do you understand resistance and why it is important? lol

back to work, happy pounding

Yes, I know what impedance is and why it's important. I wired it in 8 Ohm because I was using it with a 4 ohm stable amp about a year ago. When I switched to my current amp (Alpine MRP-M450) I re-wired the sub for 2 Ohms.

damn, why did you change your profile?

check it out, its faulty's "hustler tear collector":

haha. This pic is missing the second set of main speakers which were in the other room for Rock Band IIRC.

And I changed my profile to make it non-noob. I'm going to change it again in a few min. to reflect my updated FaceBook one.

lol well he's not from pa so thats cool

I don't know what my current state of residence has anything to do with it, but ok.
