firepuma
Thought I'd ask before I go ape ripping door panels off and the like. Rear pass. door in a v70 wagon MY00. Anyone have an idea of what the culprit could be? Hope a channel in the amp is not blown- but then tweeter would be ghost too? Thanks

Thanks My best guess is the speaker is either bad, or has become disconnected. I don't know if the tweeter has a seperate run from the head unit, but if it does, then that opens a whole-nother field of possible failures. (Everything from bad wiring to a bad amp channel)
--Aaron--
Do you have the 901/900? IIRC the tweeters are powered directly from either of those particular HU's. The rest of the speakers draw their power from the amplifier. Odds are it's just a toasted speaker, I haven't heard of our amps having problems related to channels blowing out. Nothing's impossible, just saying.

Nothing's impossible, just saying. The D pillar tweeters and rear speakers DO share common channels from the amp. The only thing that runs off of the HU with a 900/901 setup is the center channel. So, yeah - you probably fried the door speaker. :(

Thanks for the correction and knowledge.

May have been an honest mistake. Heck, I've never used it on purpose! I hit that goofy thing once when I was going for the Quote or Reply or something. It's a pretty silly thing anyhow. I don't think anyone takes it very seriously... As long as you're on here trying to help, WTFC? ;)

I was doing rear brakes last week and confirmed that the spot on the ground under my rear left is a Nivo leaking... That is gonna leave a mark on my budget. :(

BEJinFBK
I got two very used ones hanging around you can have if you need a cheap fix. Thanks, man - But I'm gonna bite the bullet and go new. It's just one of those fixes I want see in the rearview and be done with. I've been through too many winters to take chances on breakdowns. And Nivos will add a TON of Alaska Airline Miles... ;)
