smokin' T5M
I was returning from seeing Iron Man 2 (awesome!!!!!). Came upon this scene while leaving the parking lot. Looks like the V50 was making a left turn and the Ram was going straight. V50 got DESTROYED up front but notice the front doors still opened The accident scene
303jrodt5
Where is this at? Trying to figure out if I worked on building those firetrucks! That is a terrible sight to see but glad the Volvo's doors still open, that's amazing. Like I tell my fiance, I would rather crash my S70 at 100MPH, than her Chevy Malibu at 50MPH. Fin-Solo
Thats amazing, considering a massive truck slammed into it. As already stated, proves how safe our cars are.
prasamin
Let's be realistic here....any of us would have rather been in the Dodge Ram during that wreck. It's great that the passengers of the V50 were able to walk away from that wreck, but I bet that the passengers in the Ram were able to walk away sipping their latte's, while the passengers in the V50 had their genitalia burned off by their latte's. The cabin held up pretty well, but in that situation, I want the Dodge!
Big Will
Having owned an '06 S40, I am continuously impressed by how well-built that 40/50 series is. Volvo did a great job with those cars. The only advantage to being in a Ram in that situation is the height...this is also what tends to do the most damage to normal cars (and the passengers inside). Glad to see that people were able to walk away from this accident.

I can't remember the company's name right now but I used to call on them with Erac when I lived there. The company claimed to have almost a true monopoly on the FL market. Not sure who true that was though.

I think the humongous stainless steel bumper and bumper guards would have been sufficient to crush the V50 even if the Ram was slammed to the ground lol. 99 times out of 100, that particular Ram would win the battle....you can have the Ram in many different setups, but it's still going to crush that V50! Again, I'm glad no one was hurt, but I'd rather be in the Ram, any day, and in any configuration!
