fastboy
that is typical, our "local" expert hates modified ones, he cursed me out for buying the heap that was my wifes old 855, claime it needed a ton of work that I had already had done at my old dealership. Still a nice guy,but a dick when it came to modifications.

v4lve
That's how the shop in Durango is. First time I took my car to him he took a look at the engine and said "I don't work on modified cars". I was like oh well I guess then I'll just give somebody else my money. I've tried calling him for various parts (since we don't have a dealership) and other misc. questions and he always blows me off. I think it's a somewhat typical volvo tech thing to do. Then you get in a situation like me where the guy leaves the gasket of the oil return line AND USES SILICON SEALANT IN PLACE OF A SEAL RING at the block and blames it failing in ~60 miles on my MBC that he watched me disconnect and reconnect BCS. dmelviØØ7
I had an experience like this a long time ago. When I first put an intake on my s70 I got into an argument with "volvo techs" over my cold air intake. They said that removing the little flap on the front of the header panel I removed was terrible and would cause all sorts of problems with the car. I understand not wanting to work on someone else's pile of shit, but to refuse to work on something just because it looks a little different than what you expected is silly IMO. I'm with Alden on this one. I only trust myself and one other person to work on my car (he has been a volvo master tech longer than I've been alive). There are very few people I would let work on it. (Although I'd let Johann, Mr. Winkey, or ihatespeedbumps touch it all they wanted ) No love for Danny? You and I differ a bit then. I don't trust myself either, but the car doesn't fix itself posting from the iPhone ftl, where's my ipad???? Anyways you almost lost your picture messages Adam... Oops! Forgot Danny!!!! dmelviØØ7
Phew! Glad Alden caught me. That was a close call! The next one might be balls though BTW Will, this guy is a moron. We had one of the most modded s40s in the country in the shop the other day. It took 20 minutes to get it on the rack and we didn't complain. We Actually hooked him up a bit on parts! And I need a euro spec mirror for my s60r.
UnknownSoldier
My local dealer won't touch s80's, 2, 7 and 9 series etc... Yet my mech fixes them all the time.
