macminter
^ What he said. For the price you would shell out for a decent set of 8" midbass, you could just buy a sub. There is a difference in sound, a very big one.
mkb
What he said what he said x 3....be careful though, once you get a little bass you start craving more. Before you know it you have 225 pounds of gear in your ride and you can't hear $hit..... but you dig it.
Durry
that was my first idea ... adding some polk subs which people tell me that they are good and some infinity subs... all of them 8' ....... for less then 130.
macminter
And, if you're ambitious and know your audio equipment, you can run those 8" subs in the rear deck, sealed or open-air. But, Polk and Infinity are pretty good subs. If all of it is for less than 130, go for it.

Durry
i can run the subs without an amp..... i know they would sound better ....but do i really need the amp in order for the sub to work ? (already have aftermarket hu installed)
HPTDoh
i can run the subs without an amp..... i know they would sound better ....but do i really need the amp in order for the sub to work ? (already have aftermarket hu installed) You need a dedicated amp for your sub. You'll probably damage something if you hook it up to the speaker wires off the deck
Dave 54
get a used Infinity Basslink, that's what I did. Supplies just the right amount of bass without vibrating the heck outta of the car. I got mine for $70 shipped off of ebay.

(i have some subs in mind but not sure what to do next).... any suggestions I've got that exact headunit in my 99' V70. I wanted another Kenwood but the price was right and the Sony had the features I wanted. Plus I can change the illumination on the unit to green which matches the interior nicely. The usb and aux front inputs are also handy.
