Zappo
Was it a tire issue? I saw that all the top cars in STU were running Dunlops, or at least that is what was listed. What happened with the Snell's car? They both seemed to be doing well after the first day, then neither started the second. You guys going to make it back by Monday? Also, who is taking care of registration and timing? Hope you guys took a lot of pics! They should have a lot of video. :)
herz3mc
Hankooks were not a good choice for day one. They are good hot but once they reach a certain threshold they fall apart and you can't get them back. That happened in the middle on my first run. We switched to dunlops for day two. Went thru a ton of water and ice but at least were able to maintains them at a workable and predictable level. My mental game wasnt there.the car felt great. Had a good last run on day two though so that was a bit redeeming. Really learned a lot about driving well. Especially as a course. Workers. We might not be there Monday. I have lots of photos and there were some pretty awesome cats there. One volvo s40 t5 in g stock. Sadly it was pretty painful to watch. When I have real ibyernet ill post up some pics. Zappo
Well, all 4 of you were off the pace, and that is unusual so I figured tires were a factor as well as the heat and OPR. The guy who won SS had 3 sets of tires for the second day. Swapped wheels after every run most likely so he didn't have to deal with OPR pickup. I did see the Volvo in the entry list and figured it wouldn't do well, but I didn't follow it. I mostly tried to keep track of the BSCC people in the different classes. You were in the biggest event out there and that is valuable experience.
herz3mc
Just outside of twin falls Idaho. Plan to be home late tonight. I'm so looking forward to a long shower, fresh food and my bed. Not quite sure if rv living is for me. Although we make much better time having a bathroom on board. Stupid small baldders
