magicaljake
What RPM does the dip begin at? Can't see anything from the pics. thats like 4100 rpmon another forum somone said somethign about spark plugs.. and i just relized that i have never replaced anything in the ignition system..... i have owned the car for 13 months and have put 32,000 miles on.... any idea if that could have anything to do with it? oh.. and when my car came off the dyno the CEL, ABS, TRACS lights were all on.... but went off by the time i got to the hotel

If it's happening around peak torque area, makes perfect sense. BKR7E's work wonderfully, and are inexpensive. I'd only use Bosch cap & rotor. sconeman
It's good to replace/regap plugs 10-15K or even more often when your running high boost pressures. I do mine about every year. I had some blowout under load at 17 psi in the white car and it scared the crap out of me. +1 on the NGK's and they're about 1 heat range colder I believe look into getting an EBC to control that boost better too you don't want to melt a piston or bend a rod
magicaljake
ok.. lets just say that the dip is due to my ignition system.... do you guys think its safe to assume that the lack of power on the top end has something to do with the same? thanks for all your help/oppinions guys
fischmama
ABS TRAC light seems to be normal after running on a dyno. I read mine and it noticed a speed difference between the front and rear tires for an extended amount of time a threw a speedsensor codes for the rears. Codes will still be stored but not as a permanent if you drive a bit and it gets proper data again from the rear. I would not read into the dyno chart to much since what happened was probably registered by the ECU somehow and affected the rest of the run. My car would "blow out" at 19psi @ 4k+. Then I replaced the plugs, rotor and distributor cap and it hasn't happened since. It's a cheap and easy place to start. It's a necessary and mandatory parts set replacement every 15K miles. fixed :D
Captain Bondo
do you guys think its safe to assume that the lack of power on the top end has something to do with the same? Hard to say. usually it'll pick back up again highe rin the rev range when the VE drop and the charge gets less dense. What turbo and what cams? Keep Calm Chive On
so i must be extremely wasteful my plugs get exhanged every other oil change and in the last year ive put on 3 sets of plug wires. not because of issues but because i just like knowing theres no wee little shinanagins brewin. so if i were to go the NGK BKR7E route they are 1 heat range colder than the bosch super + coppers i use? That's nuts. Get one set of kingsborne/IPD & be done with it. Wires should last 60K without any problems. The 7E's are one range colder.
Keep Calm Chive On
i have the kingsborne now i was just very wasteful but it helped me sleep at night.
