Fudge_Brownie
Nice. Yeah, you're right, I was hasty in my decision to slap all of you with the assumption that you don't care about anything beyond your immediate view. Granted, these people are overreacting, when there are a myriad of other variables carrying our society in the wrong direction that they could be pissed about. I don't know if any of you ever feel this, but whenever I spend time in a wilderness area I feel connected to my surroundings. If I had spent a lot of time in an area only to witness its' seemingly meaningless destruction I would be pretty mad too. The bitch screaming was annoying, but her sadness/anger wasn't completely unfounded. It's not that I think we should stop altering our environment, I just feel that we are traveling in the wrong direction with the development of our society. Looking at the motivating forces behind my life and comparing them to other societies and the past I sometimes wonder why I'm still doing what I'm doing today. I think about how this is for everyone and I get confused. I don't really know where I just took that, i got carried away a little I think While places like cities mow down entire natural environments, they harbor a new feeling and a new type of life for our race. Despite that, people still like parks in these urban areas, and suburban areas surrounding the cities fetch a high price due to their desirability. Personally, I love the woods. I'm in the woods regularly, I'm trying to find a house in the woods, and I'll be camping in the White Mountains this weekend. I guess my point is that there isn't exactly a shortage of trees. Mossback
I wish they looked like this out here, but they don't. Too many touchy feely types, I prefer the old school Oregonians who hunt , fish and log. (a 100 yo tree is 2nd or 3rd growth out here. Just a saplinig that needs to get culled)

Commander Riker
Quite funny, but really these people are no different than the religious crazies who show up every Sunday and act like fools inside a church. Screaming, speaking in tongues, passing out when touched by "god" It's all the same shit, just re-repackaged. EDIT: At least these people aren't stupid enough to give money once a week Agreed... though I'm sure there is a toll for going on the crying trees road.
