Turbosleeper Posted June 1, 2010 Report Share Posted June 1, 2010 Alright so Im not new to the car audio world whatsoever but I am curious as to where the factory amp is located on the premium sound systems. I have a basic alpine mp3 deck to install and am curious if I can run the factory amp with it. I was originall going to use a wire harness adapter but the smaller connector on the volvo side only has one single wire running from it(yellow/black) if Im not mistaken. drin850 Posted June 1, 2010 Report Share Posted June 1, 2010 the factory amp is located just under the headunit/infront of the heater core. you can access it the same way you would access the heater core. I'm pretty sure you can't use the factory amp with an aftermarket deck (probably why i removed mine). not a big deal since most new decks are over 200watts. once you unplug the amp you'll have the second harness to plug into the new deck. I have an extra harness if you need one. I cant do anything with it, since I already had another harness. Just let me know, as it is still in the box it came in.
