You looking for a bike Omar?

Not at the moment...cool.gif

I might be getting a Fisher in the future...even though I'd have to give up my want for a single-side swing arm

Weee bit faster than that. Modern middleweights will top out between 150 and 170. Its about power and gearing. I know for a fact the Triumph Daytona 675 will top out around 165 and its not the fastest middleweight out there. Thats all beside the point since you shouldnt see that kind of speed on the street.

Have fun with the CBR. Ride safe and be sure to wear your gear. If you guys decide to go riding let me know. Im always down for a good ride somewhere.

Being a factory tech, I've ridden the new bikes (well, up to '08 year, then changed brands), and past 140 is where the 600s really start dropping off. They're bad enough on the highway as it is, but much faster than this, they just don't make the power to get there.

I'm being reasonable here, I'm not talking about a top speed test on the salt flats, but speeds that could be reached on modern free ways.

I've raced many 600s on the street in my turbo cars of the past, and I usually pull from 70 and leave them like they're standing still around 120-130.

However, a slight bump up to the 1000 makes for a very entertaining ride. I used to tell customers of the amazing difference between the 1000s and Hayabusas of the time. Both of them were fast, but the 1000 was like trying to ride a bull.

Change the gearing and get more top end right? I say this and I am total pussy at high speeds on my V-Rod. I guess I just start thinking about wife and kids and the right hand relaxes.

nice bike , now this bike does better than 160+ because I know.

but theres no need to do it again. The best thing to do is to get the gearing set. 1 down in the front , 2 up in the rear. this brings the top speed down , but man so quick otherwise. best bang for the buck.

But most of all dont be stupid & ride smart. I learned when I went down. I been riding since I was a little kid , but I still went down. we all say " nah , im a good rider "

Also had to replace the battery ($170 ugh) and did an oil change the other day. The guy before had it filled wayyy over the high level mark so I was glad to get that taken care of. Bought a fender eliminator, frame sliders (which on these bikes you have to cut the fairings, not to excited about that) and swing arm spools.

i put fairing cut sliders on my bike recently, it's not as bad as you think. just be careful and get everything lined up before you start drilling. also, you can always try a method like this

http://www.gixxer.com/forums/showthread.php?p=3928880

i used the same technique but instead of putty i put a light coat of model paint on the head of the bolt and threaded it out to where it would touch the inside of the fairing when installed. after seeing the putty idea i think i would have preferred to do it that way.

congratulations either way, i've liked every cbr that i've ridden and like everyone else said - BE CAREFUL.

That bikes pretty shy on HP compared to similar street bikes. Looks cool though, reminds me of a triumph daytona 675.

Looks more like the old Triumph 600's.
