True Swede
I have been battling various CEL codes lately but I now finally have a black display with no CEL light. Since I am way overdue on the inspection due to the codes I decided to drive up to Volvo to have them perform the inspection. The last two years the car has been putting out a "codes not ready" msg when I took it in for inspection and they have had to put it on the dyno to check the emission values. Due to new regulations in TX that is pretty much no longer possible, unless you can show $600 in repair receipts and then the state will assist you in getting your car inspected. Anyhow, he offered to hook up the car for FREE to check for codes. Can you believe it, a stealership doing something for free!!. He came back and said the only code that was registered was P0611, I code I have never had before. It has something to do with the pressure in the tank from what I understand. He told me to not drive the car with less than eight gallons in it and to drive it for three cycles and then return to have it inspected. I searched on the code online but there is really not much info out there on this code. Anyone here have experience with this issue?
--Aaron--
P0611 RESERVED No idea, let me look around.....see if I can find anything....Searching around it seems as if that code is related to a "fuel injector control module"? It seems to be common on diesel forums.......

Again, he said it was something about the pressure in the tank, either on the way in or on the way out of the tank, being incorrect.

Obviously I know nothing about your CEL and the web is not telling me jack stuff either. Going out on a limb here buttttt............since it is apparently a fuel injector control module error code, our fuel injectors are controlled by our ECU's. (amongst other sensors and things) Try a good ECU? I don't know man, hope you get it figured out.
True Swede
After running CEL free for a week I decided to take it to an inspection place. I guess the 611 code Volvo read did not cause any problem since the car passed with flying colors. Big relief!! They did have to revert to manual mode on the emission part of the test, but since S70s are known for this problem TX state has made the car exempt and allow the manual testing.
