firepuma
eh, don't really like the idea of HID's going on and off with light sensitivity. The rain function I will look out for.

beewerks
I also am a bit worried about the HID problem, but I'm super interested in the rain sensing wiper deal. Maybe if we could buy the complete kit and then just plug in the part of the system that we want? Keep up the good work!
bdimag
^^^ exactly... if you don't want the light function, you can leave that wiring out... and i'll be sure to include that in the writeup notes. I had the rain only sensor in the same price list... it'd be about $5 cheaper so really no point. what are some ideas to make the auto on/off "safe" for HID? a timer? i'm assuming there's something like that built in so lights dont go on/off as you pass under a large tree... The only time i've seen auto lights in use was w/ my mom's Lexus... i remember they never came on when they shouldn't (like simply being in the shade)... this isn't a lexus sensor though, admittedly. when it's all installed I have no problem making videos of everything in action. bdimag
I'm gonna order them at the end of July... I wont need money in advance but i will welcome it. I have all my wiring diagrams printed and ready for study, so i'll work on that in the meantime.
bdimag
I'm ordering 20 whenever they get back to me... If you're ready to buy a barebones kit, then send me your PayPal address and I'll bill you when I receive them ("5-10 business days"). Price is $64.90. --------- those waiting on wiring info ------ So here are some thoughts: -I don't want to use the intermittent position regardless -- according to the wiring diagram, that kicks on the HL wipers (anyone know for sure?) -Position 1 (down 1) looks like the best place... thoughts? ---If you want to keep that speed, i'm still working on an on-off-on circuit to activate auto (and if I can swing it, have it hit the door chime once when activated)

Serge
For anyone that's wondering, I have the Hella Raintronic setup in my car (same hardware as the OEM rain sensor in all European cars), I simply cannot live without it when it rains! Being able to flip the wand to intermittent and have it wipe only when necessary is a huge improvement over any other intermittent option (the ones you program/adjust are a pain to use, in my opinion). eh, don't really like the idea of HID's going on and off with light sensitivity. The rain function I will look out for. I wouldn't worry about it. OEM setups on newer cars do this all the time. Although it really depends on the ballast and bulbs you have (OEM parts handle it flawlessly, aftermarket might not like it).
bdimag
thanks Serge btw... for those who DO want to keep their adjustable stuff... 2 spdt relays 1 latching relay 1 resister 1 capacitor 2 diodes every time you turn it on it switches circuits... i think that would do it... wrap most of that into an enclosure and it'd probably be an extra $10 or so. bdimag
Here is the auto wipe function: thank you John for letting me install them and demo your car -- first installation ever, so of course it was very slow! But now I know whats what. ---- Also wanted to note: The 5 second delay worked fine The 30 second delay WOULD HAVE worked if we didn't wire things up right at the headlight switch. The existing relay will still prevent power from reaching the lights. --------And here is what is meant by "intelligent wiper speed" While already on, if it starts to rain harder, they will speed up!
