jgraphix73
Hi All, I am a new proud owner of an unmolested 97' 850R and have a request for help with a small problem with the stereo. When I turn it on, it comes on with a loud blaring noise...the volume doesn't help and doesn't work when this happens as well as changing the stations, etc. When I took the 850R to a stereo shop to demonstrate to the installation guy, the stereo was working. He figured it was possibly a loose ground wire somewhere. Then I drove her back home and it was working until I hit a bump on the way back and the noise re-appeared (thought to myself, definitely a loose ground). So my request for help on this.... 1) Has anyone experienced this before? 2) Can anyone point out where the amplifier for the 850R is? Photos would be super helpful! 3) Possibly someones knowledge as to where the loose ground will possibly be? Thank you for the help!
Matt854T5
Sounds like A ground issue. Funny were using the same avatar pic :)
Dave 54
Amp is behind the radio to the right. You can access it 2 ways, one by removing the HU. The other by removing the PS kick panel on the console. Def. sounds like a loose connection. GL

Yeah, thought the animation is hilarious. Amp is behind the radio to the right. You can access it 2 ways, one by removing the HU. The other by removing the PS kick panel on the console. jgraphix73
Just figured it out... it was a blown rear speaker that was causing all this blaring.
