theunderlord
Ok, so we've all seen the new Heico Aluminum door pins. But for 50 bucks.. I think we can do better. Here is the door pin/lock assembly from the 70 series car. My writing is sloppy, but the pin itself is 1 1/2" long and about 1/4" wide. It threads on, but the threads look more like a barbed hose fitting than anything else. I'm going to see if I can come up with a replica. I'm not going to be able to reporduce the quality of the etching on the top of the pin like on the Heico one, but it should still look pretty cool. Veneficus
Do you think these would work for the 800 series kevin?
theunderlord
Do you think these would work for the 800 series kevin?←Brian, I do.. Scott Hart (iPD VIP) told met the the heico pins they sell will work for all 93-05 model cars. I'm guessing that throughout the model years, they changed the wire mechanism, seen on the left of the picture I posted, but the lock pin itself hasn't changed. So my hunch is that the heico pins that you buy from iPD (Mason can you verify this) are just the lock pins ( the Aluminum part that you push down to lock the door) So I think by replicating the aluminum pin, they'll fit any car. ps- i think on my design, glue of some type will have to be used to secure the aluminum pin to the wire. But it's all in the design phase right now.
Veneficus
You should engrave "VS" on the top. :D

You push it down and for lack of a better work, the metal rod grinds thru the plastic to stay on...Mason
